The hallmark of a Celebrate Jesus Mission is clarity of the vision to intentionally move toward full obedience to the Great Commission.  Celebrate Jesus is not about building membership in your church or ensuring its survival; it is about having a heart for the lost and the hopeless, it is about desiring for them to know Jesus, it is about recovering connection to your community.

 

As the Reverend Kendall M. Taylor,  former Executive Director of the Office of Congregational Transformation, in the Florida Conference, United Methodist Church states, “We are not to be so busy saving our own lives (trying to survive in the four walls of our churches), but we are to let go of ourselves (lose our lives) for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ…then and only then will life and vibrancy come in our churches.”
